Chinese 1955
Born in Qinhuangdao and graduated from China Central Academy of Fine Arts, majpured in sculpture. Being an artist of new generation in China, her works often reveal an air of narrative fairy tales and are full of metaphors of humanity. The artist subtly points out the imperfection in any fairy tales with her works in which the viewers often discover a melancholy.
Jin Nu is exquisite at creating autobiographical works in female shapes and that is an identity of gender expression to the society. She gently tells an uncertainty and insecurity to the society where she exists. She has held solo and group exhibitions since 2011 in Beijing, Guangdong Museum of Art in Guangdong, and “New Sculptures”held by Hi Art for the emerging Chinese sculptors in 2017.
