TUNG TSO-PIN
Chinese 1895 - 1963
Born in Nanyang, Hebei, Tung Tso-pin learnt seal carving since an early age. Tung devoted his lifetime in archaeology and calligraphy. Dong was a professor at National Taiwan University and director of the institute of philology and history at Academia Sinica. Tung was regarded as a reputable Chinese archaeologist and his construction of a Shang chronology was his most important research achievement.
