S.T.Chung (ZHANG Zizheng)


Chinese 1917 - 2000


Born in Shanghai, 1917. S.T. Chang started to paint at the age of four. He graduated from Shanghai Art Academy in 1934. In 1945, he studied Western painting in Shanghai under a French professor from the Lyon Art Academy. Chang subsequently taught at the Eastern Painting Studio and participated in numerous exhibitions in China. In 1958, Chang was invited to exhibit his paintings alongside works by Lin Fengmian, Yan Wenliang and Li Keran in a traveling exhibition to promote Chinese art and culture in Europe and USA. Chang continues to showcase his work in exhibitions by Alisan Fine Art (Hong Kong), Cave Gallery and Pa Ta Gallery (Taipei). Chang passed away in Shanghai in 2000.
