In 1952, "Sound of Autumn" won the Education Prize in the Provincial Fine Art Exhibition. In 1987 he had a joint exhibition with Lu Pu-shih; in 2001 had his retrospective exhibition at the age of 80. He preferred the themes of Taiwanese indigenous scenery, the daily living environment in particular. He had a sharp eye on observing the changes of light, space and creatures. "Still life" and "Scenery" are the two series fully embody his artistic features. He often changed and revised his work repeatedly; at times it took him over a decade to finish a painting. This is the key to the mature and sophisticated style.
