LEUNG Siu Hee

Chinese-French 1953

Born in the Luomen Islands in 1953, settled down in Hong Kong between 1965 to 1976. Leung graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure de Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1980 and held his first exhibition at Cherng Pinn Gallery in 1990. He has participated in many solo exhibitions respectively in Crown Center, Chuan-Men Gallery, Up Gallery and Fairmate Art Gallery. He was also included in several group exhibitions in some major art organizations. Being fascinated with black and white movies since he was young, he started using charcoal to paint. Every detail of his paintings can be discerned from the intensity and curve of each stroke of his charcoal pencil. Surpassing the effects of the traditional style of painting, Leung's creations emanate the exuberance of life.
