Born in Hsinchu, Taiwan and has been interested in painting since he was young. He had been teaching ever since graduation from the Department of Art in the National Taipei Teacher's College in 1952. He worked hard on paintings during leisure hours and never gave up artistic creation. He used to be a member of the Taiwan Oil Painting Society, Taiyang Art Society, Chinese Painting Society and that of the Chinese Art Association. He won 8 awards in the Provincial Fine Art Exhibition; also the winner of Chinese art society oil painting awards in 1971, the Sixth International Art Exhibition in Canne, France and various other awards. He held dozens of individual art exhibitions and had an oil painting art show in the Center Culturel et d'Informaation de Taipei à Paris in 2001.
