LIU Liang-yu

Born in Chong Qi. Liu came to Taiwan with parents in 1949 and settle down in Pingtung county. He is a Master of art history in Chinese Culture University, an Art Doctor of honor in State Saint Olaf College, Minnesota in USA. Liu served in Taipei, The Palace Museum in his early years, taught in Fine Arts Graduate Schools and Fine Arts department in Chinese Culture University from 1975 to 1994. In 1982, Liu was invited to give lectures in Switzerland Geneva University for one year. Liu's talent in ceramics and waterink field is characteristically brilliantly. His works are magnificent to color, all displays the natural, graceful and poised and lush imposing manner. As for the water and ink painting works, whick reflect with the ceramics interestingly, and for the scenery works, such as rustic charm of mountain forest, cigarette haze and red maples, etc., all expressing the aureole invariably, full of poesy and having a unique touch between the pen and the ink.
