LI Kai

Chinese 1947

Born in Beijing, Li had been fascinated by painting since childhood. He was enrolled into Central Fine Arts Academy afterwards. Due to that the school is quite near to the Forbidden City so that his mind was fulfilled with all kinds of images of the Forbidden City in a profound way. This made him hold the very first hopes and thoughts toward Forbidden City. He graduated in 1967, and is a member of Chinese Artists Association currently. His works had been exhibited in Japan, France, American, Australia, Singapore, Mexico and Hong Kong repeatedly. His works, powers, atmospheres and color tones are not always similar, some of them were infused with realistic methods, some of them with points of colors, some are a little bit decorative. But no matter in which method he executes a painting, it reveals the beauty he discovered and expressed. And he gave them a deep connotation keeping the racial cultural miens.
