WANG Jinsong


Chinese 1963


Born in Heilongjiang Province, China, Wang is perhaps best known as an oil painter of Cynical Realist style and later as photographer. Graduated from the Hangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Chinese Painting Department in 1987, he currently teaches in the Fine Arts Department of the Beijing Institute of Education. Important exhibitions over recent years: 2010 "Riddles – 2010 Wang Jinsong Solo Exhibition", Shanghai; 2009 "Leaving Some Room for Imagination – Dual exhibition of Li Jikai and Wang Jinsong", Beijing; 2008 "55 Days in Valencia: Chinese Art Meeting Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno, IVAM", Spain; 2007 "The Paintings of Wang Jinsong", Seoul; 2006 "First Chinese Contemporary Art Exhibition", Beijing; 2005 "Chinese Concept Photography Exhibition", Israel National Museum and "International Biennale of Contemporary Art", Prague.
