King Fen-hwa
Taiwanese 1955
King Fen-hwa was born in 1955 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. She graduated from Business Administration Department of National Taiwan University in 1977. Her first solo exhibition was held in 1984 in Today Gallery, Taipei, since then her solo exhibitions were continuously held in Lung Men Art Gallery, Taipei, Modern Gallery, Taichung, Different Gallery, Taipei, J.P. Art Centre, Kaohsiung, Liang Gallery, Taipei, Sing Art Gallery, Tainan, Eslite Gallery, Taipei, E.D. Lee Gallery, Taipei…etc. Two of her works are in the collection of Taipei Fine Arts Museum. Throughout the years, her sensitivity towards things is shown on her artistic creation and forms her own unique style of dreamlike surrealism. King thinks each and every of her paintings is a whole new adventure. Thus, on her canvas, we can see the changing path and the different results of her attempts. She prefers elegant and pure images with simplified composition; feminine and tinged with a hint of mystery.
