ZHU Yiyong
Chinese 1957
Born in Chongqing, China, Zhu studied at the oil painting department of the Sichuan Academy of Arts. He graduated in 1982 and became Professor at Sichuan Fine Arts Institute. Zhu participated in Spring Salon Exhibition in Paris, France in 1982. In 1987, he participated in “Contemporary Oil Painting Exhibition” in New York, and in 1989 in “Chinese Outstanding Works Oil Painting Exhibition” in Japan. In 1992, he had his solo exhibition “Zhu Yi Yong Paintings” in Xin Mei Gallery in Taichung, Taiwan; and another solo exhibition at Galerie du Monde, Hong Kong in 1995. In 1998, Zhu’s works were shown at the “East Meets West Art Exhibition” in Berlin, Germany. He participated in “MiArt 2005 – 10th International Modern and Contemporary Art” in Milan, Italy in 2005. Solo exhibition “Memories Series” was held in Schoeni Art Gallery, Hong Kong in 2006. Same year, he participated in the exhibition “Oil Painting of Mainland China since 1978” at Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Taiwan. In 2008, Zhu’s solo exhibition in the USA was held at “Red Star, 798 Avant Gallery” in New York. He also participated in Art13 London, London in 2013.
