TIAN Xiao-chi

Chinese 1966

Yi Bu, originally known as Xiao-chi Tian, also known as Lian-chi, was born in 1966 in Changchun, Jilin Province. He graduated from Jilin College of the Arts in 1994 and currently resides in Songzhuang Artist Village in Beijing. Natural, spiritual, unconventional, unbound, unpretentious, and relaxed are adjectives that could describe the ink wash paintings of Yi Bu. His works display a laid-back attitude, each stroke seemingly careless and depicting an unrestrained philosophy of life.
