Born in 1957 in Tianjin and earned a degree in Oil Painting from the China Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1982. The oil painting “A Story About a Golden Apple – Before the Storm Comes” was displayed at the 1989 Chinese Modern Art Exhibition. He moved to Canada in the early 1990s and works as a professional artist. Liu’s works draw attention to international and social issues. Solo exhibitions of his work have been held at the Taipei City Gallery and the Modern Arts Center of the Netherlands and his work can be found in galleries, art institutions and private collections all over the world.
