Wu Shiwei was born in 1957 in Taipei and graduated in Chinese Painting from the Fine Arts Department of Chinese Culture University in 1985. He earned a Master’s of Fine Arts from Tunghai University in 1998, where he currently works as an assistant professor. Wu’s talent lies in depicting issues through plant-life and is an influential Mesozoic ink painter – his detailed brush strokes, subtle dyes, garish colors and traditional structures herald a new age for modern ink painting. He has held over 10 solo exhibitions and his work has been shown in over 100 exhibitions worldwide.
