KAMA Takumi

Japanese 1985

Born in Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture in 1985, Takumi Kama graduated from the Department of Design, the Faculty of Art, Kyoto Seika University, with a major in OilPainting. Upon graduation, he began working as an instructor at a painting school in Osaka. It was during this time that one of the top sculptors in Japan, Mr. Katsura Funakoshi, took notice and interest in Takumi Kama’s talents. This was the launch of Takumi Kama’s painting career, one that has continued to this day. One of the reasons that much of Takumi Kama's works focus on the depiction of live creatures besides human, is due to his strong compassion for animals. Another reason is because the artist believes through the depiction of animals, he will be able to think and contemplate from their perspectives.
