HUNG Seanpei

Taiwanese　1979

Born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Hung graduated from Department of Fine Art, National Taiwan Normal University in 2002. In 2007, he received his Bachelor Degree in Arts from Art Department of National Taipei University of Education, Taipei, Taiwan. Hung’s work “Folding Surface” series was created acrylic on canvas, which are typical painting medium. By piling acrylic paint on canvas, Hung creates physically stereoscopic paintings instead of two-dimensional paintings that were created as attempt to imitate the three-dimensional space. Hung’s work features a refreshing visual experience with the piled paint that resembles relief sculpture of origami work. The work “Just Painting Three Folds Series No. 5” was collected by the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts in Taichung.
