Hajime SORAYAMA

Hajime Sorayama was born in Imabari, Ehime prefecture, Japan in 1947. Hajime Sorayama is famous for his meticulous erotic portraits of female figures. He is celebrated not only in fine arts, but also in the field of illustration and industrial design. The original robotic pet AIBO by Sony was designed by the artist. In 1965, Sorayama entered Shikoku Gakuin University to study English literature, afterwards, transferred to Tokyo's Chuo Art School to study fine art. Sorayama combined metallic texture with erotic figures in his works, presenting a unique enchanting quality which was popular around the world.
