Denmark 1919 - 1992


Born in 1919, Danish industrial designer and architect was a carpenter before his went to The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts at age of 30 and under the instruction of Kaare Klint who was praised the Father of Modern Danish Furniture. Influenced by Kaare Klint, Olsen’s works focused on combining the ergonomics and the traditional crafting arts.

His remarkable works Roundette Dining Set was designed in 1952 and manufactured by Danish furniture producer Frem Røjle Møbelfabrik. This dining table and chair combination allows the chairs perfectly fitting under the table which saves more space when it’s displaying. The innovative design could be seen as breakthrough back then but also an appropriateness in modern days.
