Johannes Andersen

Born in 1903, Johannes Andersen started his design studio in 1903s and begun his collaboration with other crafting companies including CFC Silkeborg in Denmark and Trensum in Sweden. His works was deeply influenced by the Scandinavian design style, in which one can see the unique outlines and streamlined shape in Johannes Andersen’s works. He had a good skill on the wooden crafting and particularly used the rosewood and teak as his main materials on his works.

He was praised by his remarkable usage on curved lines into the works such as one of his extraordinary works, Smile Table. Johannes Andersen believed that any kind of design should be based on the daily usage hence, his works were always combined both the functional purpose and crafting aesthetic. His organic design and practical wooden crafting goods allow his works still world-widely gain the attention even today.
