A GOLD-SPLASHED BRONZE TRIPOD CENSER WITH DRAGON EARS
Qing Dynasty |
Made of pure, thick and heavy copper. Yellowish-brown serves as the base color for this item whilst specks of gold fragmentally decorate the outside wall. Its body of rosy, cloud speckled gold will really knock people over. The mouth is round with an inclining rim and its beam neck slopes into a flat and round abdominal. The outer wall of the abdominal section has a pair of Chi dragons. These Chi dragons appear to be climbing whilst their bodies flow onto the outside wall, adding to the item's elegant style. The abdominal tapers off inside and the body is supported by three legs. The bottom reveals the mark Made in the Xuande Period. This item is of excellent copper casting and is a spectacularly elegant ornament. The gold specks and Chi dragons add to what is already a magnificent item. |
