A BRONZE SQUARE CENSER WITH HALBERD HANDLES
Qing Dynasty |
Polished bronze censer with a uniform brown color and sleek texture. This work features a rectangular mouth, flat ribbon-like lip, square abdominal, and a pair of square halberd shaped handles. The lower abdominal curves inward where it meets the base, which features four L shaped legs. On the bottom are the four characters, Shan Xing Zhuo Qi, written across two lines in seal script. Unlike most censers, this piece does not feature a round body, but a square one, making this piece rather rare. Furthermore, this piece is one of a private collection, making it even more exclusive. |
