A BRONZE TRIPOD CENSER WITH BEAST HANDLES

Qing Dynasty

Solid bronze censer with a ripe chestnut color and elegant form. The work features a round mouth with thick lips, narrow neck, and round abdominal. The neck is short, creating a concave space between the mouth and shoulder, which is flanked by two beast handles. Towards the bottom, the abdominal rapidly closes into the round base, where three tapered cylindrical legs support the structure. On the bottom are the three characters, Fei Yun Ge, written in graceful and handsome calligraphy. The beast handles are crafted in a delicate, refined, and orderly fashion, making this work aesthetically pleasing.
