A BRONZE DRAGON EARS CENSER WITH ORIGINAL STAND
Qing Dynasty |
Fine quality pure bronze with a chestnut colored body and contrasting brown patches, truly a feast for the eyes. The piece has a round opening with a flat rim, a cinched neck and a flat drum abdominal that narrows into a round, outward facing foot. On the bottom, the four-characters, Made in the Xuande Period, are written in seal script and embossed in a square frame. This bronze censer features a pair of dragon handles on each side, a round foot with cinched waist and a round base supported by three short cloud legs. With distinct curves, a delicate style and a true classical form, this piece is an excellent model amongst other dragon handle, round foot censers. |
