A BRONZE SUNFLOWER-PETAL BELLY TRIPOD CENSER WITH BRIDGE EARS
Qing Dynasty |
Fine quality bronze with chestnut colored skin, smooth and glowing. The piece has a round opening with a pair of bow-shaped bridge handles protruding from the rim. The outline of the bridge handles flows delicately. Below the rim is a narrowed neck and bent shoulders. The wall of the abdominal is made in the shape of six sunflower petals, giving the vessel a lively and plump sense of nature. Under the round bottom supported by three small legs, the three characters, Hall of Swaying Willows, are written across two lines in seal script and are embossed in a square frame in the middle. |
