A BRONZE CENSER WITH BRIDGE EARS
Qing Dynasty |
Fine quality pure bronze, glistening with gold like scrolls of Tibetan scripture. The piece has a round opening with a raised rim. A pair of bridge handles pull out from either side of the rim, as lively and beautiful as that of a jade belt. Below the rim is a short neck and shoulders that drop straight to a drooped abdominal, followed by a round base supported by three small legs. On the bottom, the six characters, Made in the Xuande Period of the Ming Dynasty, are written across three lines in seal script and are embossed in a square frame. |
