The whole body is of an excellent copper casting, with a flat rimmed round mouth extending into a beamed neck and sloping shoulders. Both sides have dragon handles and an oblate abdominal which gradually slims downwards. At its base, the mark, Made in the Xuande Period of the Ming Dynasty, is written across three rows. The bottom reveals a beautiful golden copper whilst the outer wall is of a deep maroon coloration. As this item has aged, its mottled appearance has resulted in a breathtaking display of light and shadow.

The piece has a round opening with a flat rim, a cinched neck and a flat drum abdominal that narrows into a round, outward facing foot. On the bottom, the four-characters, Made in the Xuande Period, are written in seal script and embossed in a square frame. This bronze censer features a pair of dragon handles on each side, a round foot with cinched waist and a round base supported by three short cloud legs. With distinct curves, a delicate style and a true classical form, this piece is an excellent model amongst other dragon handle, round foot censers.

Delicate bronze with chestnut red skin, the piece is smooth with a solemn resonance. It starts with a round opening, a flat rim and a cylindrical abdominal with a pair of Kui dragon handles extending out from the abdominal area before narrowing gradually at the bottom onto a round foot. On the bottom, the four characters, Study Hall of Swaying Willows, are written across two lines in seal script and are embossed in a square frame in the middle. There are two wide stripes on the wall near the opening and at the bottom. Below the top stripe is a circle of Ruyi clouds. Above the bottom stripe is a circle of lotus petals. In addition to the stylish contours, this vessel charms with its distinct Ruyi style lotus petals.

Pure quality bronze with a blushing red surface and dark brown patches. On the bottom, a more reddish, yellow bronze is visible. The entire piece is glowing, smooth and tender. Starting with the round opening, the lip is slanted slightly inward yet is still round and smooth. Moving down, there is a narrowed neck, a round abdominal and a pair of assuming capricorn heads with pointy noses on either side of the neck. On the bottom, the eight characters, Made in the Xuande Period by Wu Bang Zuo, are written across two lines of regular script and are embossed in a rectangular frame. The strokes of the calligraphy are smooth and the form is both delicate and beautiful. This bronze censer is simple with soft lines, yet bold with its perfect roundness, especially with the beautiful and lively elephant heads imbuing it with charm and spirit.

Wu Bang Zuo was a famous bronze craftsman during the Xuande Period, although his date of birth and death are unknown. It is said that not only was he the official supervisor of the craftsmen, but also the designer of all the different styles and colors of the censers. Wu Bang Zuo made a great amount of bronze vessels for the royal and common temples. At the same time, he illegally made some bronze censers for sale, too. His bronze censers are absolutely exquisite and widely cherished.
